Secure Applications for the Web

My name is Matt Newberry and I'm an independent website developer with eight years experience building commercial web applications for clients of all types.

My technical strengths are web database, email and mobile web development, with an emphasis on security, in ASP.NET and PHP. Though I am not a graphic artist, I create handsome site designs using the web standards of clear XHTML structuring and tasteful CSS styling.

I seek and cultivate ongoing, trustful working relations with satisfied clients. I've developed tools to ease the integration issues inherent in collaborative development. I debug, support, maintain and extend what I build.

I believe that the essential lesson of the past decade of web development is that, whenever possible, large web applications are best developed incrementally, producing a usable, testable, deliverable application at the end of each development phase. Experience has shown that user requirements will change, often dramatically, over the lifetime of a web application; incremental development offers the opportunity to embrace the changes and develop a truly useful product, rather than force a single large project through to completion with minimal feedback from real everyday users.

An added benefit of the incremental approach is that the client can work closely with a single developer over the life of a project, building trust in the process, rather than calling in a large revolving team of developers and their handlers.
